Go Orioles, go Padres. O’s overachieved last year, and even though they improved their roster I wouldn’t be surprised to see them take a step back. They are still very young, with new management who hopefully isn’t afraid to spend money. If they can keep that young core intact, look out. The Padres underachieved last year, and even though their roster got worse, I expect them to improve on last year’s record. Even though SF, Arizona, and LA got better, I just don’t see San Diego being so bad in close games as they were.
I love baseball, and think it’s the most interesting game ever created. Who is your team and how do you think they’ll do?
Fuck the Dodgers

craig440 I had fan fest tickets with my son for last Sunday, but it was cancelled due to rain. They gave us free tickets to the exhibition game today against the Mariners, so went because why not? My son is on Spring Break and I took a sick day. Gallagher Square is completely redone, new playgrounds and picnic areas with a new dog park. There’s a new feature where kids can climb up a giant baseball bat and go down a big slide. My son tried it but it seems more centered towards kids under 10. Trying to rip off the Coke bottle slide that the Giants have at Oracle Park imo, and it seemed like a claustrophobic nightmare for parents to try to track their kids, lol. But I think it will do well. That stadium and atmosphere has come a long way, they’ll get big attendance this year.

Owner John Henry is starving the Red Sox of cash so he can invest in the PGA and setup Fenway Sports Group for the purchase of an NBA expansion franchise in Las Vegas. That's why Lebron James is a minor parter.
To fill the coffers, the Red Sox market the Fenway Experience to baseball tourists traveling to Boston. Out-of-Towners are the target market.
The Boston Red Sox are banking on young, unproven players: Chris Sale was traded to Atlanta. Brian Bello (RHP) has been annointed as a young Pedro Martinez. The rest of the staff is meh: Nick Pivetta (last year he re-learned how to pitch out of the bullpen), Kutter Crawford (the best of the rest), Garrett Whitlock and Tanner Houk.
1. CF Jarren Duran - an exciting player 2. 3B Rafael Devers - can't field a ground ball for $300M 3. SS Trevor Story - always hurt 4. 1B Triston Casas - could be a solid player 5. DH Masataka Yoshida - can't field and only hits when you don't need it 6. LF Tyler O'Neill - no idea who this guy is 7. 2B Enmanuel Valdez - no idea who this guy is 8. RF Wilyer Abreu - there is talk of sending him down to AAA before he has one at bat 9. C Connor Wong - a backup catcher on a better team
Projected record: 71-91, last place in the AL East for the 4th time in 5 years

Cards will stink on ice this year. Team's a mess. Saw the Cardinals last week in Jupiter, FL. I was amazed at the number of hard-core Cardinals fans in attendance, wearing all their gear.

I honestly have faith that the Pirates lineup can win them 85 games, but their rotation and the injuries to their bullpen don't inspire much faith in their ability to keep teams from outscoring them.

Im excited for fantasy baseball, which will last until June and then I'll just be looking forward to playoff hockey/football coming up.
Mets are gonna score a bunch of runs but their starting rotation outside of a rejuvenated Severino looks like trash.

Made the opening day roster as a rookie with zero MLB experience and the first pitcher in Pirates history to do that, and the first player in franchise history to make the opening day roster as a rookie since 1992.

Whatever the Pirates are this season, they have the ability to score runs in bunches.
Faulter gives up 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st including a GS, going down 5-0 in the Top of the 2nd. They then bat around the order in the 2nd, hitting 3 runs to come back in Game 4. Pirates have won the previous 3 games against the Marlins by a combined score of 22-10. Bottom of the 2nd, the score is 5-3 Marlins.
