Most of the city connect uniforms are hit or miss for me, but the new Phillies one is pretty good. The Liberty Bell hat is awesome.

Bring up Skenes already. Stop trying to sell AAA tickets. He is just destroying guys down there. He deserves to be up in the majors NOW.

Angel Hernandez back to being a shitstain of an umpire. How is he still employed by the MLB? Every ump scandal seems to involve this douche... Add this one earlier in the week...

Pirates win 2 out of 3 against the O's after a wild throw from Gunner Henderson erases a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 9th and gives the Pirates the walk-off win 3-2

What a great comeback by the Padres! Wow that was fun. Down 8-0, seven run sixth inning and then Fernando Tatis two run homer in the bottom of the eighth.

Pirates win the first game against Detroit 7-4. Keller throws 9 SOs over 6 innings on 5 hits and 2 earned runs, with 3 walks. Bryan Reynolds hits his 100th career Home Run.
Don't look now, but the Pirates are tied with the Yankees for the best record in baseball. I'm enjoying it, but I don't feel this is sustainable just like it wasn't last year. The Pirates are an April team. They started last year 20-8 but finished 56-78 down the stretch. Unless they bring Skenes up in a hurry, they don't have the pitching to sustain this through the year. Keller is a strong leader on the mound, but he would be a 3rd or 4th guy on a team like the Yankees or Dodgers. Jared Jones is looking like a future ace and is blossoming quickly, but they don't really have many options right now. Their bullpen is fantastic and once Holderman and Mlodzinski get back, they will be unhittable in the late innings. Chapman is still a flamethrower in the 8th and Bednar is an elite closer. Sucks that Moreta got TJ or their bullpen would be downright insane. They have some pieces to build off of and/or have the luxury to use them as trade chips to round out their roster at the deadline.
I just don't like their starting pitching outside of their potential Top 3, even if Skenes gets called up and becomes the generational talent he can be. Preister still being in AAA at this point is worrying as far as his future as a starter.

Having great franchises flounder is not good for baseball. I want to see KC, Oakland, Pitt., Cinn, compete for Wirld Series from time to time. I remember the ‘79 Pirates win over the O’s. That was a fun team. Good to see the O’s in contention last year!

No shit. They already lost like 2-3 games they should have won because the back of their order couldn’t hit mediocre pitching.

It chaps my ass that Jackson Holliday wasn’t on the O’s opening day roster. Sure, he’s only 20 and needed more experience in AAA. But he’s better than Urias or Mateo or whoever else they want to plug in at 2B at the back end of the order. If you do it, I’d be happy to help with ticket selection. For example you want to avoid grandstand sections 4-14 and the lower boxes in front of those grandstand sections. Your seat will be facing the LF/CF walls and you’ll spend hours with your head bent to the left

Wow That’s what happens when you are as bad for as long as the Orioles were a few years ago, lol. Their AAA team is absolutely loaded. Hope the new owners pay them all to stick around.

The Padre/Dodger game is worth the price of admission. Two top scoring teams in all of baseball so far this year. 7-7 7th inning. Tatis two run homer to tie it up.

Yea, I knew this wasn't sustainable. Pirates are now 11-7 and about to be 11-8 while down 9-1 against the Mets in the 9th and will likely lose the series against them. Pirates NEED to bring up Skenes, screw arbitration. They can't survive with Bailey Falter as their 3rd option in the rotation.

Looked like the real deal in the spring training highlights. So far he’s 1 for 25 with 14 strikeouts and 1 RBI. That’s good for a .040 average and .115 OPS. Basically godlike.

He’s struggling to adjust to MLB pitching, nothing new for a 20 year old. I’m not too worried about him.

Skenes is absolutely dominating Triple A, but still hasn't seen more than 3 innings or so a game. He hasn't really been facing batters more than once in a game. Before being called up, it seems that the Pirates need to up his pitch count. He just recently went over 60 pitches for the first time in AAA, but he hasn't gone through an order more than once. That will be an important step in his development.

That will be an important step in his development. The biggest thing holding the Pirates back isn’t their pitching, it’s Bob Nutting. He’s another one of these owners crying about small market poverty when they are perfectly capable of putting together a much stronger team. Instead they trade away any talent that they develop for prospects. Nutting made some weird move a little while ago to save like $30k on a contract recently, i forget the details, but this is a multi billion dollar industry. Too many of these owners are cheapskates who aren’t interested in winning, the team, or the fans. They only see it as a business venture. Look at the disgusting situation in Oakland. The Orioles had the same problem under the Angelos family but I’m hopeful that the new ownership group changes things. I’ve always liked the Pirates as well, hopefully Nutting sells at some point but until he does, you guys are likely stuck in purgatory for the forseeable future.

If you own an MLB franchise and go 7 full seasons without a playoff appearance you should be forced to sell your franchise to MLB who will find a new owner.
(90 day sales cycle in the offseason)
