He never did anything bad. Just his job! From his point of view the rebellion was evil! The main premise from these books is that Thrawn is bad with politics. I don't know I may change my mind if I jump into the next trilogy and see how he joins the empire. But I have a feeling the empire brought the same rigid military life style he was accustomed to and it fit him well. Give me a book to read on him to sway my opinion. Just finished the Autobiography of Malcolm X. Had never read it before, picked it up on a whim. He was an interesting dude. So you ready to join me in taking the white man down?  I always thought that was how he was….but he wasn’t really about that. Especially after breaking away from NOI. His comments about JFK were pretty fucked up though. |

His comments about JFK were pretty fucked up though. I'm not a huge fan of NOI. And I definately don't agree with the stuff Farrakhan said about jews. But when he wasn't going full extreme, he said one thing that always stuck with me. He said there are some whites that are afraid to considered equal to blacks, because if blacks folks ever came into any power, we'd do to them... what was done to us, ie... revenge. While I can't speak for white folks, but I do think there's a small segment who may think that way. I don't want to go too deep, because I don't wish to see this pushed into politics section, but I do find it concerning that where I live, which is half-hour outside of philly, a lot of other POC, but non black will look at me and my family walk through the door of an eater, or gym, whatever, as if to say, "What are they doing here?" Staring at us like we are the foreigners, or 1st - 2nd generational family. I feel like saying, "Yo, we've been here for a minute. Don't regard us a newbees, or trespassers, just because you don't think we belong." |

Give me a book to read on him to sway my opinion. Thrawn Ascendancy Chaos Rising Btw, it looks like I had already started this in Prime Reading. Looks like I grabbed it years ago. The minute I started reading, it started to come back to me. I put in like 40 pages last night. Its coming back to me know. I'm willing to admit it appears he's more methodical... less evil. Kinda like a means to an end. I'm not having him over for my kids birthday party, but I'm not spitting on his grave. |

I guess you just don't love your kids enough and don't want them to have a good time |

 I want to say this is book 15 of the series. This is my longest series to date. I haven't started it yet, hoping that Rene Auberjenous is still alive to do the narration. All this time I've been doing this, I've yet to include the comic books. But after talking with E Nice, I decided... why not. I'm reading the Avengers vs Xmen series from 10 years ago. It picks up shortly after the mutants were brought back, but only like 1/10 of them had powers any more (long story). I'm reading a new ThunderCats comic, which has a twist on the origin. Same thing with Transformers. THis take is more realistic, with a much higher human casualty route. Decepticons are like "F ya feelings humans!" before -squish-. |
